Air emission position paper
I have a question. When I accessed to the Higg FEM account on Wordly platform, and in question number 7 of the Air emission section, I saw that the platform only noticed ZDHC air emission guideline, not ZDHC air emission position paper. The supplier used ZDHC air emission guideline to calculate VOCs and GHG scope 1 and 2. And the ZDHC air emission position paper would not be used anymore? Is it right?
The ZDHC Air Emissions Position Paper was released as a strategic intent document to clearly explain why ZDHC is addressing air emissions and to outline key focus areas, including climate change, air quality indexing, human health, engineering controls, and best practices in air emissions control techniques, in the context of air emissions regulations worldwide. It does not have any reporting requirements. In contrast, the ZDHC Air Emissions Guidelines represent the next step by establishing the foundational work required to link input chemistry with air emissions. It has reporting requirements with respect to : 1. VOCs (Volatile Organics Compounds) - Calculation and reporting of Potential to Emit (PTE) assuming 100% of the VOCs within the chemicals of the chemical inventory goes into the ambient. and 2. Expectations to calculate or report GreenHouse Gas (GHG) Emissions - Scope 1 and Scope 2 along with the target Science based target setting. Both of the above requirements are aligned with the Supplier to Zero v2.0 evaluations, where supplier engagement is currently expected. At this stage, the performance criteria levels—Foundational, Progressive, and Aspirational given in the existing air emissions guidelines—remain not applicable until new performance criteria or benchmarks are developed.
