How to certify formulations with Glycols/Glycol Ethers

Under the ‘Glycols/Glycol Ethers’ category of ZDHC MRSL V3.1, for ‘leather applicability’ of ‘2-Methoxypropyl acetate (CAS No. 70657-70-4)’, there is a general formulation limit of 50 mg/kg and a formulation limit of 1000 mg/kg specifically for ‘leather finishing formulations'. When certifying a sample for the ZDHC MRSL V3.1, how does a laboratory distinguish between a leather finishing formulation and any other general formulation for leather applicability?

Thank you for posting this question. A KB article is published on this which can be found here. https://knowledge-base.roadmaptozero.com/hc/en-gb/articles/11718185355677-ZDHC-MRSL-V3-1-and-Conformance-Guidance-V2-1-Formulator In general however, the limit value of 1000 mg/kg is only applicable to specific leather finishing formulations alone and not universally. Hi, Thank you for asking this question. We have already published a Knowledge based article on this the link to which can be found here. https://knowledge-base.roadmaptozero.com/hc/en-gb/articles/11718185355677-ZDHC-MRSL-V3-1-and-Conformance-Guidance-V2-1-Formulator However, your question "as a solution provider/laboratory" is valid and for this you need to get this details from the formulators. Such information does not classify as proprietary information, however you may have to discuss this with you formulator. When certifying then you will also read the SDS, information provided by formulator and based on it, you should be able to distinguish a leather finishing formulations from the rest of it. I hope that answers your question.
